Stay peaceful, well and happy—not matter what

Peace is like a never ending project. However, the more we pay attention to our overall wellbeing, the easier it gets to continuously choose peace as a way of living. Actually, peace is who we truly are. The peaceful self, is unconditional love embodied in this world. We can work on our own peace, and simultaneously contribute to make this world a more loving place. As I’m writing this, I just finished teaching a meditation class for a digital service design and development studio in downtown Helsinki. The employees are a group of sweethearts that put a lot of mental effort into the work they do. A work that requires them to stay tuned to their creativity in order to succeed. The door to creativity is opened by connecting with the peace we all have inside.   How to stay peaceful? We chatted after the class and all agreed, that when life gets super busy, it all comes down to very basic ways to keep yourself in balance—sufficient sleep, excercise and proper nutrition. In addition, add in some relaxation and meditation practices and we can usually stay balanced.  Body, mind and spirit are closely interlinked. Body starts to have aches and pains if we don’t treat it properly and the mind easily get restless when the body isn’t functioning well. When you loose touch with your heart’s intelligence, such as compassion and understanding, you’ll feel restless and the restlessness is very much present in your body too. Relaxation and exercise helps you reduce especially the restlessness in your body, but indirectly you will feel more calm in your mind, and as you feel an overall calmness, you are automatically connected to your spirit, your heart.   Exercise When I studied to become a yoga therapist one of our beloved teachers was a german orthopedic, who had changed his surgery knife to the tools of yoga, because he had experienced the benefits of yoga himself. Above all, this German man taught us women how to be gentle with ourselves. I found this quite extraordinary, as it's usually us women talking about gentleness and self-love. Yoga is an easy way to connect body, mind and spirit, and to find patience and acceptance with yourself and others. Even if I teach yoga, I don’t think it’s the only way to stay physically fit. Kauneuden kukka kiiltää, kutsuu. Voinko olla Sinun? Ottaisitko hellästi kämmenelle? Näetkö vuosien työ? Hengityksesi pitää minut elossa, lempeä katseesi herättää, lämmittää.   Onko nyt kevät? Saanko jälleen kukkia, tai tallaatko maahan, kerrot etten kelpaa. Hauras varsi katkennut, mutta kukkia tuotan kuitenkin, et voi sitä estää. Halusit poimia minut kansioon, litistää ja kuivattaa. Pölyksi olisin muuttunut, kirjahyllyyn unohdettu.   Katsot minua hymyillen ja hellästi. Erikoinen kukka, mietit. Kukkii syksyllä ja loistaa keskiyön valossa.   Voisinko olla Sinun, kuiskaan silmilläni sanomatta sanaakaan. Kuuletko kutsuni tai tallaatko maahan? Voisimmeko yhdessä antaa toisillemme niin paljon, että hengittäisimme jälleen omilla keuhkoillamme? Voisimmeko nousta korkeuksiin, muistaen kauneutemme?   Katse sanoo: "Ota minut syliin. Näen sinut rakkaani. Rakastan juonteita silmiesi ympärillä. Kuulen itkemättömät itkut sydämessäsi. Jokainen sydämen lyönti täynnä kauneutta. Näen sinut rakkaani. Olet ihmeellisen sinnikäs lajitoveri. Noustaan yhdessä rauhaan. Ravitaan toisiamme ymmärryksellä, ilolla, rakkaudella. Rauhan tila on rakkauden tila. Tila joka vahvistuu kun olemme vierekkäin."   Hellästi hymyilen ja ihmettelen, onko nyt kevät, saanko jälleen kukkia?   *** Hei :) Herkkyydessä on sekä hyviä että huonoja puolia. Herkkyys ja luovuus kulkee usein käsi kädessä. Lisäksi herkkyys pitää meidät lähellä sydäntämme, lähellä lempeyttä, elämäniloa ja rauhaa. Toisaalta herkkyys voi joskus tuntua raskaalta, kun oma sydän aistii ja sykkii niin kovin voimakkaasti, esim. jos oman kehonsa kautta tuntee myös muiden ihmisten tunteet. En kuitenkaan vaihtaisi päivääkään pois, herkkyys on osa minua, se on portti intuitioon, kykyyn nähdä syvemmälle toisen ihmisen sisäiseen maailmaan. Mikä on sinun kokemuksesi herkkyydestä? Harmony and healing with the help of nature

Today Sunday April 22 we celebrate Earth Day. I see this day, and the rest of the days of the year, as a possibility to find a deeper gratitude for Mother Earth! Nature heals us into our inherent harmony and balance! Love and gratitude Some years back, I used to practice buddhist meditation with Thich Nhat Hanh's direct student, Sister Thieu, here in Helsinki. I recall especially one practice that she guided for us, even if I don’t remember the words we were supposed to use. However, it was a walking meditation where we felt every single foot step on the floor. Around half way through the practice, a spontaneous feeling of deep gratitude towards the Eearth flooded over me. I felt I needed to apologize to Mother Earth, for not taking her better into consideration. A deep love and compassion for nature started to develop. Perhaps this might sound a bit weird, but I truly love every little expression of life itself. I talk to the plants and the animals, hug the trees and feel a mutual exchange of support and love between myself and nature. All we need to do, is to spend time outdoors in nature, to receive all the healing that we need. Nature gives us all that we need, in any given moment. Our innate peace and harmony is restored, just by taking a walk in nature or the forest. How amazing isn’t that! How to listen to your inner guidance & step into your power

"Reach for your inner guidance".  “All the answers you ever need are found within”. Hah! Haven’t we all heard that before! I’ve been preaching that same message many times myself, "look within" and "step into your power", but I’ve only understood it on a superficial level. I’ve travelled wide and far around this globe, searching for–something. I’ve participated in yoga retreats, learned from gurus in India and Bali and studied books on yoga and spirituality. I’ve trekked the paths in Nepalese Himalayas, became vegetarian by accident and stopped drinking booze. Quit my 9-5 insurance job, sold my home, bought an one way ticket to Borneo, took a leap of faith, and started teaching yoga and meditation full time… Sincerely, I've been living my life to the fullest, yet, something was still missing. I wouldn’t stop and listen to the little voice within. It’s so easy to trust other people’s guidance for us and to forget about our own inner wisdom. Now, of course, it’s great to have trust in other people and to be open to hear what other’s have to say. However, we should never neglect our own inner power and wisdom. No one else will know better how to live your own life, than you. Gurus and teachers come and go in our lives, but there’s only one that will stay forever in your life, and that’s your own heart. It started already late last year, this nagging feeling, that I really should take more silent time for myself. I felt that there was something I didn’t want to see or hear. Something that was just under the surface, but I didn’t want to allow it into my conscious mind. So I kept pushing forward without listening to this nagging feeling, which was my heart trying to get my attention. However, just a few weeks ago there was a sudden change. My eyes a kind of spontaneously started to open. I could see more clearly than in many months before. I realised what my heart had known it already for a long time. I had done the same thing again, as I’ve done before! I had put my teacher up on the piedestal, without questioning anything this person said. Now the time had come to start trusting myself, fully and completely.  Now, don’t get me wrong, it’s great to have a mentor to walk beside you! Yet, how could someone, who doesn’t know...

Life’s happy reminders to live from the heart

Life gives us joyful events as happy reminders to stay in trust and keep on living from the heart! Life itself brings us continously happy events, through which we may find more softness and return back to living from the heart. However, it’s up to us wether we notice these events as reminders of the possibility to live with lightfulness end easiness. In our role as alchemists, where we transform our struggles into an elixir of growth, we might sometimes forget that life just as much gives us happy moments to find back to our true Self. Your vibe attracts your tribe You’ve probably heard many times that “your vibe attracts your tribe.”  So have I, but honestly it’s just very recently that I really started to experience this in my life. When we are staying in lower vibrations, focusing on what others are doing wrong or what is not good in our lives, we rather zoom out when someone reminds us that we are like magnets. What ever it is that we feel within, the more of the same we will attract into our lives. First, concentrate to find back to the inherent joy that you already have within. Take responsibility for your own wellbeing, stop blaming others and your self. Just decide, to feel great, and you’ve already shifted your inner subtle energy. Life will respond by brining more great things into your life.   [caption id="attachment_5846" align="alignnone" width="300"] A tree shifts is energy effortlessly as the light starts to increase in the Spring![/caption]   Inner shift If you don’t know how to make this inner shift, try gratitude! Yeah, I know, you’ve probably heard this million times before, “just be grateful for what you have in your life”, but all I can say is, that it really works. Gratitude brings us instantly into higher vibrations and life brings us right away more things to be grateful for. If life serves you lemons, be grateful for them too, because they’re actually full of vitamin c ;) The more contentment and gratitude you have within, the more happiness shines from your heart out into the world. It’s all about living from the inside out. Pay attention to how your environment starts to respond to your inner joy. Shift your inner world, and see how miracles begin to occur in your life. Soul Family

Our Soul Family Members and Angels are like pillars of light in our lives I’m just back from a ten days soul family holiday in Tenerife, Spain. I’m filled with gratitude! For those of you who don’t know, Tenerife is a paradise island just off the west coast of North Africa. The southern parts of Tenerife are quite dry and hot, where as the northern part of the island enjoys a bit more rain, making it green and lush. All by all, the energies of this island support profound spiritual upliftment. I was lucky to part of small a group of other wonderful Finnish soul sisters, all curious to learn more about the principles of consiousness, taught to us by Pia and Leena. Pia is healer, channeller and intuitive. Actually, words does not describe how grateful I am to know her. She doesn’t actively promote her services, but the right persons still always find her. Leena Maria Markkanen I like to call my earthly light guide. She’s pure light, founder of Lightfulness Coaching™,  as well as the author of Keys to Your Divine—a Road to fearlessness and Transformational Recovery, available for instance on Amazon.  Recognition During this retreat I met some of my soul family members/angels, all lightworkers or so called earth angels. Light workers or earth angels are usually sensitive persons who remember their true essence, the light within, and who work to help others remember too. They work to literally spread light and loving kindness to other people, to animals or to the planet.  You know that feeling when you look a stranger in the eyes, and you intuitively know you’ve met before? If your heart thus feels warm and happy, then that person is probably a member of your soul family. Soul family angels may of course also be ‘normal’ family members. The persons I met in Tenerife awoke strong feelings of recognition within. You just know and it’s like you continue where you once left, maybe eons of time ago. With one of my soul sisters, I got the feeling that in other lifetime we used to play around on sunny green fields, running hand in hand in the sunshine giggling! And you know what, as I told her about this idea, we decided to do just that! We took each others hands and just ran on the grass giggling! Let’s not be afraid to be like kids again, it feels perhaps...

Surrender or struggle

We all will experience those moments, where we can choose to continue the struggle or to just surrender. My dear friends, I have a feeling this will be a long text. It's five AM and I've been awake for a while this night. I want to talk to you about giving and receiving and trust, and I don't have any great solutions to offer—this time ;). I've found my life purpose, I know what I came here to do. And I'm determined to carry out the task I chose and was given, long before I came into this physical body. And I'm ready to surrender this life. I came here to remember who I am. I am is the light I carry within, and my task is to help others remember their light too. As with so many of those, who are on the spiritual path, it's the same for me. I work every single day, sharing light, in a very literal way. I'm no saint, and I certainly get sad, angry, frustrated etc. I'm not fully free from my mind, even if that is my highest wish, to be completely emerged in the unconditional love, that we all are at our core.   Spark of light within I've come to a point where I can not continue in the same manner as before. I do not know what it means in practice, these are just fleeting thoughts in the middle of the night. I know I need to be true to myself, and if you feel that yes, you'd need that too, then check out this video on Youtube. Somehow I know, that you who read these words, will help me. Together we will do what we can, to make this world a peaceful place again. We have the spark within us, to continue living Within and for the Light, for Peace and natural Joy. We have the spark within us, to live a meaningful and fulfilling life. Struggling I know, that this is not as life was intended to be, as it feels like right now. A struggle. Maybe it's because of the lack of sunshine right now here in Finland, or maybe I'm just otherwise tired. Or maybe it's the worry to not have enough to make the ends meet at the end of the month. Giving, giving and giving, but not receiving enough. I'm tired. There are times when the only thing that gives me comfort are the words...
